The naming of Hazrat Imam Hussain radiallahu taala anhu and Hazrat Imam Hassan radiallahu taala anhu

When Hazrat Imam Hussain radiallahu taala anhu and Hazrat Imam Hassan radiallahu taala anhu were born on different occasions  thier father wanted togive them other names, but the Holy Prophet Muhammed Salalaahu Alaihi wasallam specifically named them from these names, these names were speciallysaved and kept for them .
The names of “al-Hasan” and “al-Husayn” were not known before that; i.e. in the state of ignorance (Jahilyah). In fact their grandfather Prophet Muhammad sallallahualayhi wa sallam was the first one who named with them(who named somebody with these names).

Ibn al-Athir said in “Asad al-Ghabah”

Leaders of the youth of paradise

After they were born the Holy Prophet Muhammed Salalaahu Alaihi wasallam did not give them a basharat that they will be heaven  , but he gave a Basaharat that they will be leaders of the youth of paradise.

The Prophet - blessings and peace be upon him - declared: “these two sons of mine are the leaders of the youth in Paradise.”

[Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Kitab al-Manaqib, Manaqib Abi Muhammad al-Hasan, Hadith no. 3793, Vol. 5, Page 426].

Narrated: Ibn Umar
“The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: 'Hasan and Husain will be the leaders of the youth of Paradise, and their father(Syadinna Maula Ali radiallahu taala anhu) is better than them.”

Sunan Ibn Majah , Chapter 1 , Book of Sunnah Hadith no: 118

The Holy Prophet Muhammed Salalaahu Alaihi wassallam had to choose  between his son and grandson , and he chose his grandson.

 It is stated that once, the Holy Prophet - blessings and peace be upon him - placed Imam Hussain on his right thigh and and his own son, Sayyiduna Ibrahim on his left thigh. Jibra’il appeared to him and said, “Allah will not keep them both with the Prophet, choose one of them.” The Holy Prophet - blessings and peace be upon him - could not bear being separated from Imam Hussain and three days later, Sayyiduna Ibrahim passed on to the Divine Lord. After this incident, whenever Imam Hussain came in front of him , he used to kiss him and say, ‘Welcome to the one for whom I have sacrificed my own son’”

The reward for those who are thier friends .

Hadith1
He has also declared that, “They are my sons and the sons of my daughter. O Allah! I have kept them in my friendship; You also keep them in Your friendship and keep him as Your friend who keeps them as his friends.”

 [Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Kitab al-Manaqib, Hadith no. 3794, Vol. 5, Page 427].

Hadith2
He has also stated that, “these two are the swords of the heavens.” He has also stated that, “Hussain is from me and I am from Hussain. May Allah keep him as a friend who keeps Hussain as his friend. Hussain is a grandchild from among grandchildren.”

 [Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Hadith no. 3800, Vol. 5, Page 429].

Hadith3
 The Holy Prophet - blessings and peace be upon him - has also stated that, “Their friends are my friends, their enemies are my enemies.”

Hadrat Umm al-Mo'mineen Sayyidatuna Maimoona Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha was the last wife of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam). She was the daughter of Harith bin Huzn and Hind bint Awf. She belonged to the tribe of Banu-Hilala. The Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) had another wife from the same tribe. The other wife’s name was Sayyidah Zainab Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha, commonly known as Ummul-Masakeen (Mother of the needy and poor). Maimoona was her second adopted name. Her first name Barra was changed by the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) and the new name Maimoona was given. Her father Harith bin Hazam was one of the respected chief of tribe Banu-Hilala and he had sixteen daughters. One of his daughters namely Umm al-Fadhl was the wife of Hadrat Abbas Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu, who was the Holy Prophet’s uncle. His another daughter namely Umm-e-Salma was married to Hadrat Hamzah Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu, another uncle of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam). Another daughter Lubaba was the mother of Hadrat Khalid bin Walid Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu (A renowned General of Muslims who fought against Iranians and was given the title of ‘Sword of Allah’ by the Holy Prophet Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam). Harith’s some other daughters were later married to Hadrat UmarRadi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu, the second Caliph and Hadrat Ali Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu, the fourth Caliph. Another daughter Asma was married to Hadrat Jafar Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu. Thus most of Hadrat Maimoona’s sisters were married to the pioneering revolutionary leaders of Islam.

Mazar Shairf of Hadrat Maimoona Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha in 1901 before Demolition.
Pilgrims would gather here on their way to perform Hajj and then to Madinah al-Munawwarah.

The Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) was about sixty years old at the time of his marriage with Hadrat Maimoona. She lived three years’ married life with the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam). Prior to her marriage twice. Her first marriage took place with Masood bin Amr. Masood divorced her and then she was married to Abu Rahim bin Abdul Aza. Abu Rahim died in the seventh year of Hijra. After Abu Rahim’s death the Holy Prophet’s Uncle Hadrat Abbas persuaded the Holy Prophet Mohammad (Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) to marry Sayyidah Maimoona.

Maymuna or Barra as she was then called, yearned to marry the Prophet. She went to her sister, Umm al-Fadhl to talk to her about that and she, in turn, spoke to her husband, Sayyiduna Abbas
Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu. Hadrat Abbas immediately went to the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with Maymuna’s offer of marriage to him and her proposal was accepted. When the good news reached her, she was on a camel, and she immediately got off the camel and said,
“The camel and what is on it is for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).”

They were married in the month of Shawwal in 7 AH just after the Muslims of Madinah al-Munawwarah were permitted to visit Makkah Sharif under the terms of the treaty of Hudaybiyya to perform Umrah. Allah Almighty sent the following ayah about this:
وامراة مومنة ان وهبت نفسها للنبي ان اراد النبي ان يستنكحها خالصة لك من دون المومنين...Any believing woman who dedicates herself to the Prophet if the Prophet wishes to wed her, that is only for thee and not for the believers... [Surah al-Ahzab, Verse 50]

The Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) was wearing Ihram (Ihram is the dress for performing Hajj or Umrah comprised of two sheets of cloth, one wrapped around the waist and the other around the shoulder. After putting on Ihram, one can not trim his hair, cut his nails, abuse or have intercourse etc.). In the same condition he sent five hundred Dirhams as Mehr to Hadrat Maimoona and the Nikah ceremony was Performed While on return after Umrah from Makkah Mukarramah to Madina Munawwarah, he stayed at a place called Saraf. This place is ten miles away from Makkah Sharif on way to Madina Munawwarah. At Saraf, the feast of Walima ( The feast, i.e. lunch or dinner offered to friends and guests on the next day of the marriage) was held.

A great event followed the marriage of Hadrat Maimoona’s to the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam). Hadrat Maimoona’s nephew Hadrat Khalid bin Walid embraced Islam. He was a very talented and brave man from the Quraysh tribe. He was also a great warrior and renowned soldier. After her marriage when Hadrat Maimoona went to Madina Munawwarah with the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam), Hadrat Khalid bin Walid addressed his tribe and declared, “I can no longer remain in your fold”. Thus a great force in the shape of Hadrat Khalid came to Islam’s side.

The Prophet gave her the name, Maimoona, meaning “blessed”, and Sayyidah Maimoona lived with the Prophet for just over three years, until his death. She was obviously very good natured and got on well with everyone, and no quarrel or disagreement with any of the Prophet’s other wives has been related about her. Hadrat Sayyidah ‘A’isha said about her,
“Among us, she had the most fear of Allah and did the most to maintain ties of kinship.”

It was in her room that the Prophet first began to feel the effects of what became his final illness and asked the permission of his wives to stay in Sayyidah Ayesha’s room while it lasted.

Hadrat Maimoona had a great love for teaching and preaching of Islam. She has narrated forty-six traditions and according to some, seventy-six traditions. People used to come to her for the solution of their various religious problems and she always guided them with intelligent replies to their questions.

She was a kind and very pious lady. During her life, she set many slaves free. Once during the life of the Holy Prophet Sallallaho Alaihi wa Sallam, she set a slave free to enjoy the rights of a free citizen, the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) praised her saying,
“Maimoona, Allah will reward you for this act”.

She was also a great scholar of religion. Even her nephew Ibn Abbas who later became a great scholar interpreter and commentator of the Holy Quran, was her pupil.

After the beloved Prophet’s passing away, (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) Sayyidah Maimoona continued to live in Madina Munawwarah for another forty years, passing away at the age of eighty, in 51 A.H., (may Allah be pleased with her), and according to Ibn Ishaq, She passed away in 63 A.H. being the last of the Prophet’s wives to pass away. She asked to be buried where had married the Prophet at Saraf and her request was carried out.

Hadrat Ibn-e-Abbas Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha led her funeral prayers. When her coffin was lifted and was carried towards the grave, Hadrat Ibn Abbas Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha said:
“Don’t shake her bed. Be respectful and carry her with ease. She is the wife of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam)”.

The Spritiual State in which the Awliya live

"Allah said, 'I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a pious worshipper (walî) of Mine. And the most beloved things with which My slave comes nearer to Me, is what I have enjoined (frD) upon him; and My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing nawâfil (praying or doing extra deeds besides what is obligatory) till I love him, so I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sense of sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he grips, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him, and if he asks My protection (Refuge), I will protect him; (i.e. give him My Refuge) and I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death, and I hate to disappoint him."
Narrated by Abu Huraira (Radi Allahu ta'ala anhu)

From Sahih Bukhari  vol8, Hadith 509

The Power of Miracles given to Awliya

Extracted From Futuh al-ghayb

O son of Adam, I am Allah; there is none worthy of worship besides Me. I will say to a thing "Be," and it comes into being. Obey Me; I will make you such that you say to a thing, "Be," and it will be.

Shaykh `Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani, Futuh al-ghayb,

The Awliya as Spiritual Guides

This point is elaborated most beautifully by Mawlana Rumi;

 'Prophets and religious teachers(Sahaba , the Ahle Bayt , Awliya  ) are like signs on the road, to guide spiritual travellers who have become lost in the desert. But those who have attained union with God need nothing but their inner eye and divine lamp of faith, they need no signs or even a road to travel along. Such people then become signs for others’.

The Intercession of the Awliya

The evidence for tawassul through the awliya' or saints is also abundant, and it suffices that Allah strictly warns all believers to keep company with them when He says:

Glorious Quraan

"O believers! Be wary of Allah, and keep company with the truthful!"
(9:119)

and He enjoins the followership of those who have turned to Him in true and complete repentence
 (31:15).

The Prophet said to al-Firasi, concerning asking from people:

 "If you absolutely must ask from people, then ask from the righteous ones" (in kunta la budda sa'ilan fas'al al-salihin).

The Effect Of Iblees who is against the Ummah establishing connection with the Awliya is mentioned in the quraan.
The Glorious Quraan Surah Kahf Verse 63

Surah Kahf Verses 60-65

Verse 63. (The disciple) said: ‘Did you see when we reposed beside the rock?
I forgot the fish (there), and none but Satan made me forget to mention it to you.
And that fish (after coming back to life) made its way into the sea in a strange way (and it disappeared).’

This episoide relates to the event where Hazrat Moosa Alaihis Salaam was asked to meet Hazrat Qizr Radiallahu taala anhu by Allah , And he took Hazrat Yusha along with him, they stopped at a place to rest , this place was the meeting of the two seas ,
The fired fish became alive and went into the sea making a tunnel in a strange way , Satan made Yusha forget this , but later whe  Hazrat Moosa asked for the fish , Hazrat Yusha remembered and told Hazrat Moosa alaihis salaam what had happened , Hazrat Mossa
Alaihis Salaam gave his Fatwa that the same place is the place they were looking for , Then they found Hazrat Qizr Alaihis salaam there .

In the above verse Yusha indicates that Satan(Iblees) was against the meeting of Hazrat Qizr and Hazrat Musa and also made  Hazrat Yusha overlook the barakah and sanctity of that place.

Surah Kahf Verse 64. Musa (Moses) said: ‘That is the place we were looking for.’ So both returned to (the same place), tracing the (same path), following their footsteps.

Surah Kahf  Verse 65. Then both found (there) one of Our (elite) servants (Khidr) upon whom We had bestowed from Our Presence (special) mercy and had taught him infused knowledge (i.e., the inspired knowledge of secrets and gnostics).

The Love of the Awliya is a gift from Allah

Allah’s Messenger  said: when Allah loves some person, He sends for Jibril and commands him: verily, I love such and such person; you should also love him, so Jibril loves him as well. Then Jibril proclaims in the heavens that Allah loves such and such person; you should also love him. Then the residents of the heavens love him as well.Then his love is sent down to the earth (the world)."

Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (Radi Allah Ta'lah Anhu).

Sahih Muslim transmitted (virtue, joining of the ties of relationship and good manners) ch.48 (4:2030#157/2637);

Sahih Bukhari narrated it at three places  (beginning of creation) ch.6 (3:1175#3037),

Sahih Bukhari chapter of adab (good manners) ch.41 (5:2246#5693),

Sahih Bukhari and chapter of tawhid (Islamic monotheism) ch.33 (6:2721#7047);

Ahmad bin Hambal in Musnad (2:413);

Malik bin Anas in al-Muwatta, chapter of sha‘ar (hair) ch.5 (2:953#15);

 Khatib Tabrizi in Mishkat-ul-masabih, chapter of adab (good manners) ch.16 (3:74#5005).

Those hearts which were chosen for the love of Allah's beloved servants are lucky , lets pray that Allah chooses us, or be grateful if he has already chosen us

The Declaration of the fountainhead of Wilayat

It is narrated by (Syedina Hazrat Maula)‘Ali (himself). He said: on the day of Ghadir Khum, the Messenger of Allah(Sallahu Alahi wasallam)  had a turban tied round my head (as a symbol of honour) and let the loose end hang down at the back. Then he said: The angels whom Allah  had sent to help me at Badr and Hunayn were wearing turbans of the same kind. He then added: surely the turban differentiates between belief and disbelief .

Tayalisi related it in al-Musnad (p.23#154);
and Bayhaqi in as-Sunan-ul-kubra (10:14).
Hindi says in Kanz-ul-‘ummal (15:306,482#41141,41909)

that, besides Tayalisi, this tradition has also been narrated by
Bayhaqi, Tabarani, Ibn Abi Shaybah and Ibn Muni‘.

Hindi has added the following words:

Surely the turban differentiates between Muslims and polytheists

It is strange that even though people believe in the coming of Hazrat Imam Mehdi Alaihis Salaam  , the seal of Spiritual Sovergnity  and its unconditional acceptance , but disbelieve in the  same Chain  which originated from Hazrat Maula Ali Radiallahu taala anhu and continues to the Awliya all of whom are united under the roof of Hazrat Ghaus ul azam Dastageer ,

Hazrat Imam Mehdi Alaihis Salaam also will inherit the same Spiritual Legacy that  Hazrat Maula Ali Radiallahu taala anhu inhertied and will also be born in the same family chain .

Hazrat Umar radiallahu taala anhu's Fatwa

Two Bedouins came quarelling to Hazrat Umar Radiallahu taala anhu who said to Hazrat Ali Radiallahu taala anhu, "O Abul-Hassan, Please settle the dispute between these two". Thereafter, Hazrat Ali made his judgement  in favour of one of them. One of the men remarked, "Is he all who remained to settle our dispute?".  On hearing this Hazrat Umar leapt towards the man and grabbed him by the neck (and lifted him off the ground) and said,  "Do you know who he is?". He is my and every Momin's Maula (Master). Whoever does not consider him his Maula is not a Momin.

[Muhib Tabari, ar-Riyad-un-nadrah fi manaqib-il-'ashrah]
[Ibn-e-Asaakar Tarikh-e-Damish al Kabeer]

Sometimes Intercession becomes a requirement without which Allah will never forgive

The Glorious Quraan  Surah Nisa Verse 64.

And We have not sent any Messenger but that he must be obeyed by the Command of Allah.  And, (O Beloved,) if they, having wronged their souls, had come to you imploring the forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) had also asked forgiveness for them, then (owing to this mediation and intercession) they would certainly have found Allah Most Relenting, Ever-Merciful.

The Wasilah of prophet Muhammed Sallalahu alahi wassallam  is established in the above verse

Allah says that he will not forgive the Munafiq's unless they would have come to Prophet Muhammed Sallalahu alahi wassallam  and  ask for Allah's forgiveness and Prophet Muhammed Sallalahu alahi wassallam   also would have asked for thier forgiveness from Allah Subhanataala.
